Synthese-Workshop 2023 "Forschen in Verantwortung und Exzellenz: Rezeption in den Forschungsorganisationen"

02.11.2023, 13.00 - 19.00 Uhr

Leibniz-Geschäftsstelle, Berlin

Research has a role to play to contribute to societal transformations towards sustainable development. This societal responsibility is inextricably linked to freedom of research and it is valid across all research fields. In the BMBF-funded research projects LeNa and LeNa Shape, criteria for societal responsibility of research have already been developed, and tools for their operationalisation are being provided. The Leibniz Association, the Fraunhofer Society and the Helmholtz Association refer to the LeNa framework in their sustainability guidelines.

The synthesis workshop provides a platform for the exchange on the status of debates and concrete implementation activities to improve literacy on societal responsibility within research organisations. The workshop is an event of the Leibniz Network Knowledge for Sustainable Development (LFN Sustain) and will take place back-to-back with the policy-oriented future dialogue "Research in Responsibility and Excellence - How can it succeed?

The program is published here.
